Weatherzone acquired by DTN

The acquisition furthers DTN’s global growth in leveraging and providing weather insights to help customers make decisions that minimize risk and maximize growth. 

SYDNEY (October 1, 2019) – DTN, an independent source of insights, analysis and decision-support solutions, has acquired Weatherzone, from Nine Entertainment (ASX:NEC). Weatherzone is a leading provider of weather information to consumers and businesses across major industry sectors. This acquisition underscores DTN’s commitment to bringing the most accurate, most actionable insights to consumers and customers in weather-sensitive industries throughout the world.

Weatherzone, founded in 1998, is Australia’s most well-known weather brand. Millions of people use the Weatherzone app daily to plan their activities. The company provides hundreds of businesses across the country with industry-leading weather insights. Some of Australia’s largest companies in aviation, mining, energy and utilities rely on Weatherzone every day to keep their business running efficiently and their people safe. Mark Hardy, founder and board member, will rejoin the business as Managing Director and will continue to drive customer value.
